McCormick Place is one of the major convention centers in the world. It opened in 1960, and has been hosting the largest and most important trade shows and meetings ever since. It attracts over 3 million visitors per year to its four buildings. McCormick Place has about 2.6 million square feet of exhibit halls, 169 meeting rooms, 6 large ballrooms, the 4249 seat Arie Crown theater, 3 300 person theaters, and over 5800 parking spaces!
When you are visiting McCormick Place you will need to keep three things in mind:
1. Hotel: This site is dedicating to exploring hotel options. The obvious choice is they Hyatt at McCormick Place, yet it is overpriced and often fully booked. Other options exist downtown, but many of the hotels offer low advertised prices and then gouge you with add-ons (Internet, service charges, hotel/resort fees, expensive parking, charges for on-demand movies, etc). One hotel that offers an all-in-one price structure from the Internet to the breakfast, and the parking to the shuttle, is the Carlton Inn Midway. It is possibly the best McCormick Place Hotel for anyone on a budget.
2. Parking: McCormick Place offers a range of parking options, from $14 to $32 per day. For an extensive list of parking options see the McCormick Place Parking page. Or, stay at a hotel that offers shuttle service to McCormick Place.
3. Food: Whether you are looking for gourmet or fast food, a deli or a slice of pizza, McCormick Place provides many food options. And, don’t worry, Starbucks are all over the place.
